An exciting new partnership between the Scottish Chambers of Commerce, the Alliance of Sector Skills Councils Scotland and a consortium of Scotland's educational

establishments that can help you tap into the expertise of an ambitious, enthusiastic student to suit your business project needs.

 

 

This work placement programme provides employers with students studying from HNC level up to Degree level. Students are available from Abertay University, Adam Smith College, Dundee College, Elmwood College, Forth Valley College, James Watt College and West Lothian College.

The emphasis of an EiE work placement is for the host employer to lead on the length, location and timing of a project based placement to best suit the business requirements. 

ü	A dedicated team of co-ordinators, based at each college/university, is working closely with Scotland's employers to place the most suited students. If your project is applicable to the skills available, you will receive a shortlist of candidates to interview.
ü	The employer will be assisted in translating the business requirement into a defined project, and project management support will be available throughout via the co-ordinator. We estimate that projects will typically be of a 30-90 day duration, though all projects will be assessed individually on their own merit. Students may undertake a mix of onsite / offsite working - whichever best suits the business.
ü	Host employers would pay only reasonable expenses incurred e.g. travel.

A key focus of the Scottish Chambers of Commerce (SCC) will be to ensure our Chambers’ members are introduced to the initiative, and their needs managed effectively. SCC involvement in the programme is being managed by Fiona McCann. Fiona comes to the SCC with many years of business experience and is using this to ensure that the business voice is heard within the ongoing delivery of the programme.
