SPEAKERS

Christine MacKay, CEO/Producer, Salamandra.uk

Salamandra.uk is an Animation and Design studio based in Eton and Dundee, run by f:Entrepreneur, Christine MacKay. Salamandra.uk works as a visual content agency for FTSE 100 companies, start-ups, Advertising and PR agencies alike, creating tailored animated content (in 2D, 3D, Stop Motion, Motion Graphics, AR and VR) and offering a full design and branding service. From children’s book illustrations to corporate explainers, training videos or epic presentations, this talented team of creatives produces unique and powerful visual productions for any platform.

We passionately believe in the superpower of static or animated images, because they stay in your long-term memory and can transcend language, age and culture. That’s why we convey complex messages for our B2B clients using animation and design, on any platform. The curlier the creative challenge, the better – for our gang of highly creative artists!

Christine has always had an affinity for imagery, from her first crush on cartoon character Marine Boy, to a deep emotional response eliciting welling eyes at Botticelli’s Primavera in Florence. This love for imagery has been with her through decades of travelling (having lived and worked in over 65 countries) and throughout her career. During Christine’s adventurous career, she has been involved with both the client and agency side of business and after falling in love with animation whilst working in New Zealand, she decided to run with her passion and found Salamandra.uk upon her return to Blighty. At the time, animation as a medium wasn’t so common within B2B communication, however, it has grown enormously since then and now, in this climate, animation has become a positive solution, not just for education and business but also for children’s entertainment whilst filming is not an option. The studio, who practice diligent connectivity between the offices, have found that they are still able to work extremely efficiently from home and are grateful that they can still visually delight their clients remotely.
