Lochaber Chamber Event: Virtual Trade Mission to Nova Scotia

Date Event: 21/09/2020 Published by: Scottish Chambers Address: https://www.lochaberchamber.co.uk/events/virtual-trade-mission-to-nova-scotia/

Lochaber Chamber of Commerce is delighted to invite you to join our all-new Virtual Trade Mission over the week of 21st September. This is your chance to dip a toe in the water of international trade opportunities without leaving the comfort of your own home!

This virtual trade mission is a precursor to our planned trade mission that is provisionally booked for June 2021. This trade mission will help your business explore international trade opportunities in the province of Nova Scotia, reaching out across the bustling capital city of Halifax and to key locations beyond.

Opportunities in Nova Scotia
As a thriving province of Canada with strong cultural links to Scotland, Nova Scotia offers many opportunities for Scottish businesses in the following sectors and many more:

  • Retail
  • Food and drink
  • Ocean technologies
  • Cultural heritage and arts sector
  • Aquaculture
  • Agriculture
  • Forestry

As well as sharing the same language, and similar culture, Nova Scotia actively celebrates its strong cultural and social ties to Scotland. Halifax is the gateway to Atlantic Canada – this vibrant city is one of the fastest-growing cities in Canada and enjoys fantastic trade links to the UK through its bustling port.

Doing business with Canada

Canada offers a stable economic environment with established trade links to the UK and its compatible time zone (GMT +4 hours) makes business communication simple. Canada has similar business and legal practices to the UK with a strong business and consumer base. It is the world’s 10th largest economy and a member of the G7 group of the seven largest IMF-advanced economies in the world.

What is involved?

As part of this trade mission, delegates will receive market briefings on key opportunities in Nova Scotia, a networking event with business organisations in Halifax; and one-to-one business meetings with potential clients or trade partners in Nova Scotia, based on your company requirements.

Costs/Funding

The virtual trade mission is completely free for participating businesses.
