SCC Comment on Loganair dropping Wick-Edinburgh Route
In response to the announcement today by Loganair that they have pulled out of providing flights on the Wick-Edinburgh route, Dr Liz Cameron OBE, Chief Executive of the Scottish Chambers of Commerce said:
“The Scottish Chambers of Commerce is disappointed at the decision by Loganair to axe the long-standing air service between Wick John o’ Groats Airport and Edinburgh.
“This is a vital economic community in Scotland – and we must do all we can to support connectivity to and from it. We are concerned on how this will affect the rural communities that it directly negatively impacts.
“We will support Caithness Chamber in working with the Scottish Government to help support new services in the region, and to commit to preserving valuable regional connectivity across Scotland.’’
