Welcome to the Scottish Chambers of Commerce website

Are you a rural business looking to improve your use of IT?   The improvement could be to support any one of a number of business requirements e.g. introducing remote working, developing online ordering, managing your customer data, improving your social media presence. If so, there may be help at hand.

Scottish Chambers of Commerce and Scottish Enterprise are together delivering the CREATE programme which will help Small/Medium businesses make the most of technology and become more competitive through IT. The CREATE programme offers businesses the following funded services:

  • An independent review session with a local IT expert. These experts have been selected from recognised IT support businesses across Scotland.

  • The development of a tailored action plan explaining how IT improvements could best support your business.

  • Access to training materials

  • Further dedicated support from the IT expert should you wish to go ahead and implement improvements.

We have engaged with 8 IT Advisors selected from recognised IT support businesses across Scotland. Within this pilot, support is available to rural SMEs in 7 regions across Scotland, and outwith the four cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Dundee.

While the CREATE programme doesn’t provide funding to assist with the IT improvements that you may decide to implement, it will ensure that you have the most current information on local funding / grants which you may be eligible to claim.

Businesses across Scotland have started benefitting from this service, with the feedback telling us that face to face support from a local IT expert is exceptionally valuable. The businesses participating range across all sectors and across all business sizes from sole traders to the larger 250 employee companies.  Fully funded business-to-business advice, in the comfort of your own office, at the timing of your choice – we put your needs first.

There are limited spaces on the programme, which is running until June 2015. If you wish to register interest, or would like further information, please email Fiona McCann fmccann@scottishchambers.org.uk
